My motivations for the research are as follows, on a personal level I naturally want to move in the direction of happiness, reducing my suffering... I realise this is a shared aim with other people, I feel people can lose track of this or some of the free methods (eg random expressive flow) of achieving happiness can get hidden/"abnormalised" by the power and influence of our production / consumption systems on discourse (ideology and hegemony) (instrumental rationality)
I am interested in the relation between language games and happiness, ie social groups as means of achieving a movement towards happiness (See "Happiness" game) an essential part of this I consider is considering other perspectives and accessing an inner voice via an intuitive flow, and realising complementarity...
The issue of the performative (creative) re empirical (truth referential) use of language is important re the way we actively "Frame" (what concepts/assumptions we are applying) or are passive recipients of "Framing" of our information flows or engage in a collective discussion of the process... (see Context-Frame) and how this relates to the (assumed) Power interests mentioned and the concept of the western idea of a persistent/bounded "self" and assumed Binary Oppositions as addressed by Derrida...
