Foucault and Ideology: Layder

Foucault is against Ideology in Althussers sense of a universal narrative (ie capitalist exploitation) being hidden/obscured. He does however admit to stable patterns of power, and to systems of thought naturalising  forms of domination such as racism and sexism...

I assume one of the stable patterns of power is capital.

He does identify institutions such as asylums,  and internalisation of certain normalised/naturalised modes of activity/practise due to certain structures (panopticon ...!?)

Hence to say he does not identify sources of power  seems to obscure the issue
