Habermas/Foucault on communication


Unlike Foucault who who regarded language and interaction in terms of domination, seeing rationality as a form of domination, Habermas sees  them as a means of attaining freely constituted consensus...(p146 Best)

I believe we must at least engage in forms of rational communication, but that does not have to exclude its dialectical partner?"Random Expressive Flow", possibly via an extended Rationality...such  'communicative discourse' is at the foundation of  the academic project?
